WAAG stands for the Whenuapai Airbase Action Group Inc.

We are a community organisation formed by representatives of Whenuapai, Herald Island, Greenhithe, Paremoromo Residents & Ratepayer Associations with other members across North Shore City.

WAAG is an IRD approved Regional Promotion Body established as an Incorporated Society for the express purpose of encouraging appropriate planning in respect of the use and development of the Whenuapai Airbase land.

WAAG believes that a second commercial airport for the Auckland Region is unwarranted, now or within the next 50 years. When (and if) the Air Force no longer needs the site there are other more appropriate uses for the land that are in keeping with the residential location of the facility and the pristine nature of the upper-harbour environment.
